I'm sorry. You were going to ask me to choose, right? Did you want to finish?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Welcome, Val!

I'm from Malaysia and just thought that some of you may be interested to know that Malaysian TV is currently screening Wonderfalls on Thursday nights. We've just seen episode 3, "Wound Up Penguin" and I'm eagerly awaiting the upcoming episodes.

That's awesome! You're in for a real treat.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Hi Val. I have no idea where Malaysia is. Because I'm ignorant.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I used to chat online often with a woman from Kuala Lumpur .

So, um.... I knew where Malaysia is.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I went to Singapore once. Snuck in without a passport. The officials were pissed. They made me promise not to cross over to Malaysia. So, I never got to see Malaysia. Ah, well. Next time, maybe.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I have a good friend in Malaysia. Do you know Jeremy? (Kidding. Unless you know him. In which case, not kidding.)

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

It's great to be with people who love and enjoy Tim's work. It's really lonely being a Tim Minear fan in Malaysia. The problem is mainly that Malaysians and the Malaysian media tend to only pay attention to shows that are big hits in the US like The Practice, CSI and others, so you'll get a lot of blank looks when you say that your favorite TV programme is Angel, or Firefly or Wonderfalls although all these have been shown on Malaysian TV before (although we're still waiting for Angel Season 5). The problem becomes worse because these shows are all shown late at night on weekdays which in Malaysia is not all that good. Funnily enough, I think you tend to get better viewing numbers if a show is shown on Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights as people are winding down for the weekend. Also, English is not the first language for a majority of Malaysians so most viewers of Angel, Firefly and Wonderfalls and other shows like it tend to be either urbanites or young professionals.

Sorry, brenda m, but I don't know any Jeremy.

Thanks again for the warm welcome. This is one of the nicest boards I've come across.

ETA: No need to feel bad or anything for not knowing where Malaysia is. A lot of people don't know where it is unless you're from South East Asia or Asia generally. It's quite usual for Malaysians to have to tell people that our country is just north of Singapore and south of Thailand (or at least that's the location of Peninsular Malaysia).

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Heh. That happens in the U.S. too.
