Zoe: Planet's coming up a mite fast. Wash: That's just cause, I'm going down too quick. Likely crash and kill us all. Mal: Well, that happens, let me know.

Angel 5: Is That It? Am I Done?

[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Surprised that in the few comparisons of the masked & robed freemasons, no one compared it to Eyes Wide Shut. I can't think of anything more similar. (Also, I happen to like that movie, so save it.)

I thought of that too, actually, but forgot to mention it. (No, seriously! I did! The whole "secret society" vibe and the masks...) (And I don't not like it, I just don't really get it, I guess. But I won't prosecute you for it, cause people whose opinions I respect like it a lot too.)

What, does Angel know NOTHING about betting and odds and ARGH!

No, that's why Gunn always wanted him to go to Vegas, to learn.

Crazy post number!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I skipped the watch and post. Sorry.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

When they were all raising their hands and planning their blaze of glory exit I kept hearing Buffy's "the hardest thing in this world is to live in it" in my haid.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Drogyn looked pretty miserable. Maybe Angel figured he was doing him a favor, regardless.

But yeah, I'm gonna be pissed if they don't pick that up at all. Which they probably won't have time to.

Guy #1: Man, there are so many hipsters around. I hate hipsters! Guy #2: You're at the wrong place. That's like going to Vegas only to say "I hate titties!" --The Warsaw, Williamsburg (OINY)

I'm also rather disturbed about the killing of Drogyn. First, do we know that was actually him? I rewound and still couldn't recognize him.

Consuela is me. That was so not Frogyn (he will forever more be this to me because it's too funny, also hearing that in my head as a combination of Frodo* and Drogyn) - the guy Angel killed was half-bald and very weird-looking. It didn't even occur to me that it might have been supposed to be Frogyn until I read the W&P here.

I like this episode a lot more in retrospect than when I finished watching. I kind of had the (Plei? someone's) reaction of "Oh, so my sense of something being horribly wrong and asspully was SUPPOSED to be like that" and finding it hard to enjoy the last 10 minutes of goodness in light of the prior 30 minutes of irritation.

Oh, and I like Nina fine, but she's nothing to write home about. Or waste scenes on sending her out of the country.

* - Which reminds me, "Aragorn" - hee!

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

As opposed to the look that says "I have a hessian sack on my head and I'm being beaten with sticks, AIFG!"

That's really more Wesley's shtick.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I'd have to go back for a rewatch tonight, but not long after the Aragorn crack, wasn't there a Percy crack too?

Which reminds me, Tommyrot may I tag the below:

I'm in a secret cabal right now AIFG!

Since JohnSweden already took Illyria's commentary on Crash Bandicoot (which, BTW - ROTFLMAO).

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Which reminds me, Tommyrot may I tag the below:

Of course!

I had no one tag me for an aeon, and now I've had two people tag me in two days... go team me!

"Church, cult, cult, church. So we get bored somewhere else every Sunday. Is this really going to change our day to day life?" Bart - the Joy of Sect

Whew - finally caught up.

Two thoughts - First when Angel was looking around the room after his initiation I had a definite feeling that he was memorizing faces and that we were going to get a Godfather-style massacre. Which made me happy. Then sad as I remeber it is the last episode.

Second, I am having this nagging feeling that this is exactly what the SPs want. Maybe they are not happy with the Black Thorns, and were betting on Angel wanting to take them down. This would put Angel on their side if this counts as The Apocolypse. Maybe the Black Thorns have been planning a revolt against the SPs, which is at the same time why they are happy to have Angel, even though he is probably not dark enough for their taste.

Or maybe that is overthinking the situation and we are just going to have a big happy - yet angsty - straightforward battle against the earthly stand-ins for the SPs.

And I fear Wes is doomed as well, the dangerous glint in his eye makes me nervous.
