I fear backsliding.
Angel 5: Is That It? Am I Done?
[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
Y'know, if done properly a Spike TV movie would be great, but the only problem might be if they couldn't get anyone else who you would expect to play a role in Spike's ongoing adventures (Boreanaz and SMG, for example, who I don't think would be involved) and then they have to come up with phoney, contrived reasons for those character's absences or do a "Girl in Question" where the character is obviously being kept offscreen for that reason.
Although if anyone can avoid those pitfalls it's Joss.
I'd like to see Spike, Faith and Robin Wood take on the Cleveland Hellmouth. With maybe a little Xander and a few random New!Slayers thrown in for good measure. Oh, and Harmony could be this Hellmouth's Master. Hee. I think the actors are all pretty much footloose and fancy free right now, so it wouldn't be difficult getting them all together.
They never did settle what happened to Dru. I think you could get an interesting move out of souled!Spike looking for Dru and what he might do when he finds her.
THAT would be very cool.
And I'm with Debettesse -- the movies I wanted each featured a secondary character. . . and what happened to them. Neither Buffy nor Angel actually had to be there.
Matt, what if the premise was that he lost his soul and treated them all to a bloody death?
Paralyzed with the not caring. I don't hate the characters in a want-to-watch-them-die-a-grisly-death way, I hate them in a never-sully-my-TV-screen-again way.
That said, a movie featuring Drusilla or Faith as even a secondary character would have me locked in front of the set.
I watched Faith, Hope and Trick today. I gotta say, thank goodness they got a better stunt double for ED somewhere along the line. Because that fight in her introduction was actually pretty bad.
I must say that I would definitely watch a Buffy/Angel movie with some of the secondary characters, namely because the Mutant Enemy creative team added such color to them that perhaps it's an error to call them "secondary." But that leads to getting a little too technical.
I know the Buffy team started the entire mythos by "making it up," but now they have a 'verse with bells, whistles, metaphysical principles and a sense of consistency. Plus, most of the fan base is familiar with the ground rules of the two series. The Jossverse, buffyverse, or whatever you want to call it, is in many ways unexplored. Movies would add context.
I watched Angel this morning as I got ready for work, and was inspired to change my tagline.
I watched part of the episode. Kind of a "wolfy" morning for me, because I watched an episode of "Wolf's Rain" too.
