Well, I don't like to think of Firefly as completely dead yet, which the bullet in the head metaphor suggests. But it's like that.
You've never seen KILL BILL, I take it then.
[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

Firefly's calls were stopped by an alien power, not Firefly himself.
This was close to what I was going to say, except I was going to phrase it as "Firefly didn't stop calling - somebody put a bullet in his head".
I really am looking forward to Serenity. But the main reason I want the BDM, is so that it can be hugely successful, and have one or two hugely successful sequels, so that they bring back the series, a la Star Trek. (No content, a la Star Trek, mind you.) I love Firefly with a passion that sometimes gives me pause. It seems wrong to have this level of passion for a television show, and yet...
Going back ... the peak value vs career value?
This reminds me of that famous poem about how it's good when someone dies young, in their full flower, as they don't have any of the blah. (This description shows how much I paid attention to poetry in high school English classes! And how lazy I am to not look it up in Bartleby.) I am not a fan of dying young, for people or great shows, but I will admit that the lack of time for crappy episodes to sneak in may have an impact on my intense Firefly love.
"Hush! I Will Remember War Stories of Objects in Restless Gas. Have You Ever Been With Feeling," may beat out "Out of Gas."
Are you thinking of "To an Athlete Dying Young" [link] libkitty?
Yes. Thanks Ginger!
BUFFYNANGLE4EVAH!!1!!!
Angle? As in Kurt?
Buffy: "I've got to save the world again!"
Angle: "It's True, It's True!"
(He gets vampire in ankle lock, she stakes it.)
And if you don't know who Kurt Angle is that was meaningless to you...
Okay...
"Hush! I Will Remember War Stories of Objects Becoming Restless Gas that made us Smile. Have you Ever Been with Feeling of Passion, Loyalty, and Forgiving while playing Spin the Bottle, Prophecy Girl?"
And the worst episode..."Dad's a good Provider, but his Beer is Bad."
Cereal:

Yes! A related point is that the show never got old and possibly stale, it didn't become a parody of itself in its later years, no cast member ever decided to leave and had to be lamely written out, it didn't develop any long and meandering arcs that went nowhere...I'm a former X-Phile so I've seen all those things happen to a long-running (Nine F@#$*in' Seasons!) favourite show and it ain't pretty.
You've never seen KILL BILL, I take it then.
'Fraid not. Not yet, anyway.

That would be wonderful. Let us hope.

Yes; with (in my opinion) one exception, all Firefly episodes are good, with a high proportion being great. I understand the frustration of those who dislikes the slow reveals, though, because our lack of knowledge about Inara, Book, and River, and to a lesser extent the others, chafes me somewhat-- but in a 'whets my appitite for a movie' sort of way.
Sorry, but everyone here is wrong. The best hour of television ever (and I am covered with shame that I cannot remember its title) is the third-to-last ever episode of "My So-Called Life," the one with Our Town and the videotape and that Hallie Lowenthal person and "Yeah, she's always sayin' innocent stuff like that" and so much incredibly layered writing, so many full and fraught silences and knife-sharp words and perfect interweaving of the teens' and the adults' story and character arcs. Perfect.
The second-best hour of television ever is the show's finale, "In Dreams Begin Responsibility."
The third best is, as WDC notes, "Hush! I Will Remember War Stories of Objects Becoming Restless Gas that made us Smile. Have you Ever Been with Feeling of Passion, Loyalty, and Forgiving while playing Spin the Bottle, Prophecy Girl?"
Following, in no particular order, are the entire rest of the run of Buffy except Season Seven, plus "Home" and "A Hole In The World," followed by the entire rest of the run of MSCL, the rest of Firefly, the rest of Angel, and Christmukkah.*
*Based on the four aired episodes, it's highly likely that once it's available the full run of "Wonderfalls" will knock the rest of Angel and Christmukkah down a notch, and may even bump Firefly, but that's about it.
Following are all the shows on TV, ever.
No, wait. Following is the dream episode of M*A*S*H, then everything else, ever.
Did everyone get all that? Good. No more bickering.
Oh, JZ, I'm so sorry, I must beg to differ.
Because you left out "The Way We Weren't", "Dog With Two Bones", "Die Me Dichotomy", "...Different Destinations", and "Unrealized Reality".
"Unrealized Reality".
Yes, this. And DWTB. And "John Quixote," as long as you ignore that everything in it that seemed "Restless"-like in it's foreshadowing was really not followed through on.
...errr, actually, favorite FS episode has got to be ItLD Pt. 2. Just fucking amazing, with Crais and Talyn, and Aeryn and Crais, and Crichton and Scorpy, and....
