"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I'd object not so much because of the wasted prep, but because of the presumption of a need to protect.

I thought of it more as not that he thought that she couldn't do it/needed him to protect her, but that he didn't want her to live with the consequences, that it would change her.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

he didn't want her to live with the consequences

That's protection too. If I decided I can live with the consequences, white knightery like that would piss me the fuck off.

oh, I'm not saying that she shouldn't have been plenty pissed.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Pics and story from the fundraiser thingy. Further proof that I am a suckass photographer, methinks.

Sorry about the Press xpost. I am bad.

Great article, Allyson. Sorry that the press guy is an asshat. You should write the Kerry campaign and tell them that it is not a good idea for the press face of their candidate to act as if the primary motivation for a young woman at a campaign event is to get laid. Or you could have said "Thanks, I don't need a dick, you're right here."

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I wonder if it was all a security thing, with the pen being mightier than the sword, and all that. Perhaps if there was a pencil.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Allyson, that was an excellent article. If I weren't still wearing the shiny off my week-old tag, there were several lines in there I would have grabbed.

All this time, I thought Hunter was a bitch. Turns out she was just hungry.

Thank you Allyson, I too have bookmarked your site.

It's not actually her site, although she writes for it.
