Wheee! My Angel Season 1 DVDs came via UPS yesterday. Now I have to figure out how to stay awake long enough to watch Lost and at least one of the commentary episodes.

I watched NCIS (well, the BF was flipping channels and we stumbled upon the credits with Julie & Adam - really) and didn't see Adam at all, although I did see Julie so it must have been the right episode.

I thought NCIS was utter crap, a fifth-rate CSI clone. Mark Harmon+No Direction=zzzzzz

I went to JAR's official website because I was curious to see if his c.s.i. Miami role is recurring -- and under "news" there is nothing. It's sad.

I hope it just means that his webmaster is slacking.

Um... Adam was the their lead contact at the military base, the guy they talked to when they first got to the accident site, and who they interacted with most often during the investigation. You know, the guy in fatigues who looked like Adam Baldwin?

Heh. I did notice some dude who vaguely looked like he could have been AB's cousin, but he didn't jump out at me the way JB did.

Of course, I was not watching that closely due to the AFOREMENTIONED CRAPITUDE.

OK, I suppose I should just admit that I was totally predisposed to hate it because 1) title just sounds like a rip-off of CSI and 2) Mark Harmon. I kind of can't stand him, especially now that he looks all old and shit. I used to like him, for example in the classic flicks Summer School and Stealing Home, but now he's just sad. And boring. He makes Scott Bakula look like a dynamic actor fit to carry a series.

ETA I think I also get him confused with Brian Benben, as I just caught myself thinking that MH was great in "Dream On". Now that I'm COMPLETELY OT, does anyone remember that show? Good times.

LOVED Brian Benben and Dream On. Brian Benben was enough to get me to watch the horribly schlocky Dolph Lundgren sci-fi vehicle I Come In Peace.

I still like Mark Harmon. And I'll totally grant you that it's a CSI ripoff, which it is, but the characters crack me up. It's a Don Bellisario show, so it's terribly derivative, but has it's own appeal that may or may not do it for everyone.

Too bad old Brian hasn't had a good role since.

OK, I grant you the right to like NCIS because you admit it's a CSI rip-off. The funny thing I thought when I was watching it was that it was more like the original CSI than CSI itself is these days, what with Goth!Chick running shit through spectrometers and the funky music of "Investigating! Invisible Things! Which We Will Make Visible By Spraying Cool Colored Gases On!"

Wanna hear something else that amuses me? When I first heard about the new show called CSI, I made so much fun of it and was all, "Who in their right mind would watch a show called 'Crime Scene Investigation'??? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!" Shows what I know.

As aforementioned, I was just listening when I heard JB's voice. But not AB's. I don't hate NCIS, but don't love it either. I had started watching the earlier one last night, but last night it was just to gorey for me. Plus, my new computer at home finally works, and I was playing.
