Angel 5: Is That It? Am I Done?

[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

Actually, I've feeling a wee bit peckish...

From what he said, I think I have had that virus before.

Really nasty thing - it makes you feel like your having a heart attack. Called a Minoparacardium (excuse the butchering of proper medical spelling).

It is a viral infection of the heart that starts off with Flu like symptoms. It has known to kill small children. My heart goes out to him. It is still one of the most painful episodes I can ever remember.

Uncertainty could be our guiding light.

Eep, that's scary.

I come here in search of belated explanations:

1) What does MoG stand for?

2) What's the origin of the "talky meat" phrase?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

MoG.

Talky meat is from the "Sacrifice" last season where Wesley is seeking a way to crush Jasmine and talks to the crabby demon. Crabby demon calls the vamp he's got and Wesley "talky meat."

Woe to the fucking wicked.

MoG is "Ministers of Grace", which is derived from a Hamlet quote "Angels and Ministers of Grace defend us". I think it started over at TWOP, as a term for Angel's version of the Scoobies. (It's in the FAQ)

"Talky Meat" is from "Sacrifice" season 4, the bug-crittier who Wes talked to about Jasmine ("We loved her first"), and the power of blood magic vs. word magic.

eta: or "what ita said"

JohnSweden - Jun 07, 2004 8:13:31 am PDT #1732 of 3531
I can't even.

"Angels and Ministers of Grace, protect us"

Talky meat is from the speech patterns of the Praying Mantis demon from Sacrifice, Season 4.

ETA: way x-posty as I feared.

Uncertainty could be our guiding light.

Ah, thank you all ever so much.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

ETA: way x-posty as I feared.

Hey, x-posts are one way of getting this thread moving again....

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Okay, I've got something to (maybe) get the thread going again:

What's your favorite Angel (the show) moment that *doesn't* involve Angel (the character)? That means, as an example, you can't say Connor's "My father taught me that," moment, because he was talking *to* Angel.

I'ma go to lunch, but I'm hoping for posty goodness when I come back.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Hrm. The Darla and Dru stuff in Reunion- Particularly their scene in the street where Darla wants to know why.
