All I know of Aquaman is that he speaks to the fishies and sometimes rides them. Seems like it would render him pretty useless in a situation that isn't in the water. I'm always up for a defense of Aquaman though.

I think the land animals is a more recent development. Even so, with 75% of the earth covered in water, it's nice to know the baddies would have had to stick to land.
