Spike? It's you. It's really you! My therapist thought I was holding on to false hope, but…I knew you'd come back. You're like…you're like Gandalf the White, resurrected from the pit of the Balrog, more beautiful than ever. Oh…he's alive Frodo. He's alive.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What I don't like is having my head full of other people's opinions before I see something

Is it easy to be spoiled without that? The spoiler thread, for instance, isn't just for announcing what's happening next, but to pounce all over it, hold it up to the light, examine it from angles, and talk about it. I'm not sure, aside from wildfeeds, how one avoids that.

I wonder when the next show I'll truly not want to be spoiled for will come along. I don't like being spoiled for Alias, for instance, because the surprise is so much of why I enjoy it. There's not much else. Same with 24, although I think those creators know and exploit that more.

I unsubbed from the spoiler thread a while ago when it became less about delivering the spoils and more picking the spoilers apart. Also I unsubbed from the Angel thread because of the time lag. Though I miss the excitement of the build up to episodes, and I still occassionally read the watch and posts, for the reactions.

There are still spoiler sites. I am less spoiled then I used to be, but I'm pretty darned spoiled.

I sometimes think that surprise is all Alias has got. We know it's not the sensemaking storytelling.

Yeah, pretty much. Well, speaking of pretty, it does have that, but that wouldn't be enough, even for me. Surprise, and SpyDaddy.

it became less about delivering the spoils and more picking the spoilers apart

That's why I like reading the thread after the season, to see what was wrong and what was right. I'm fascinated with foilers.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I'm not sure, aside from wildfeeds, how one avoids that.

There are plenty of sites that simply report without giving commentary. But what's the fun of knowing unless you can talk about it with someone?

I'm too shy to prognosticate. Or too attached to minimising being wrong in a public forum. Which is why it's so easy for me to not be tempted.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Hi folks.

I did NOT know this thread was around and I have read every post in the thread.

I have a question:

any word when the scripts might appear for the final 2 eps?

This weekend I watched "Lovesick Ass" and "Muffin Buffalo" and last week I read "Crime Dog."

So I'm going to start reading the other scripts but I'm hoping to get completion.

I think Cranberry had said something about Bryan not wanting anyone to be spoiled on the finale. So I'm not sure at what point, if any, that script will surface.

What's the other missing script? Barrel Bear?

Yep, Barrel Bear.

If we were to expect DVDs within 6 months, I might agree with him, but I think even in the best of scenarios this is unlikely and I wouldn't mind reading the finale script now so enough time transpires before I see the DVDs.
