"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I've seen Barrel Bear and the finale. There is no way that it could have gone, continuity wise, into that spot. None at all.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Then why is it that I so wanted them to date and was pissed that he remarried Heidi-Ho?

Because you're a wrongheaded crackpot? No, I did too. I wanted those crazy kids to work it out. But I was underestimating how crazy she was, and how damaged he was.

I thought "Barrel Bear" was going to be the next-to-last 'sode, right after "Totem Mole."

Eric is trying to convince Jaye that he's over the breakup with his wife, and is ready to date. So it's in the first handful of eps, continuity-wise.

The point of the ep might have been "Okay, be proud in home," but nothing later in the season was dependent on that realisation, or augmented by it, I think.

Sharon WOULD totally use her powers for evil.

Yes, it's one of the many reasons why I love her so.

Then why is it that I so wanted them to date and was pissed that he remarried Heidi-Ho?

Because it's really funny to watch two undatable people date? It like standing outside the Fun House and watching people run into the glass walls.

We're all fate's bitch. You might as well go ahead and bend over for destiny now.

Thanks Kat. I was basing the 'sode order based on a post by Minear here

Yeah, I saw that. Tim's on crack. He's lovable, but there's no way it could work there.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

It like standing outside the Fun House and watching people run into the glass walls.

This.

Yeah, after ita explained what it was about it's clear it wouldn't work there.

I was fine when existence had no meaning. Meaninglessness in a universe that has no meaning -- that I get. But meaninglessness in a universe with meaning? What does that mean?

And, by the no point criteria, then is Wound Up Penguin better or worse than Safety Canary/Totem Mole

Haven't seen Totem Mole yet, but I liked Wound Up Penguin better than Safety Canary. SC's pacing was a bit weird; it's the only episode I've seen where I was bored halfway through. I liked reading the script better than watching the episode -- I felt like the jokes worked better there, oddly enough.

And of course there was that whole snowy owl thing that made no sense.

In fact, Barrel Bear opens with Mahandra listening to Eric's cellphone messages. And he's doing an ultimate kind of screening. Mahandra listens, recaps and then he says save or delete. She mentions Heidi and he pulls a face but saves the message.
